An introduction to Registration Manager
You can manage your event from anywhere, anytime with the AcuWeb System of web-based business tools. AcuWeb features two modules designed specifically to facilitate the management of multi-category, multi-level competitive events. Together, AcuWeb's Registration Manager and Competition Manager tools work seamlessly to provide you with a powerful and comprehensive event management system.
If you haven't yet done so, we recommend that you read the AcuWeb glossary of terms found elsewhere on this website. It will help you understand some of the terms we'll use in these tutorials.
In this set of tutorials, we'll introduce you to Registration Manager -- which we call "R.M." for short. RM allows you to set up online registration for your event, creating a customized, web-based series of online forms to collect all the information you'll need from your competition's participants, including registrant data; information about each registrant's entry and competition category; other individuals in their group; and, as appropriate for your event, travel and housing options; event-related merchandising; authorizations and waivers; fee calculations; and optional web-based, or "e-commerce" fee payments.
Because of Registration Manager's modular design, you can "thread together" the various forms you'll want in order to accommodate the unique needs of your event, omitting those options that don't apply in your particular instance. As the Event Administrator, or "EA", for your event, you'll be able to do this quickly and easily, using Registration Manager's password-protected, online "Admin," or "Administrative" tools. In effect, you simply "teach" RM how your event is structured, and RM creates the set of forms you'll need to capture the registrant information you'll want.
RM's companion module, Competition Manager, takes that registrant information and uses it to help you manage all your day-of-event logistics, from registrant check-in to competition scheduling, scoring and reporting of results. Competition Manager has a powerful report generator that makes possible the real-time publication of schedules, staff assignments, scoring forms, and competition results.
