Finally, the Reports section of CM provides you with a handy "census tabulation" for your Contest. It can be accessed via the Contest Totals button found under the Online Summaries section of Exports for [Your Contest] on the "Contest Items" page for your event.

"Contest Totals" includes counts for all of the important metrics for your Contest, including Total Students; Students by Gender; Students by Category; Students by State; Students by Grade; Total Entries; Entries by State; Entries by Category; Entries by Venue.

You can use the links at the top of the page to quickly jump to a specific census within the "Contest Totals" report. The Entries by Category census is particularly useful when you are working on scheduling, because it can quickly help you determine how many competition rooms you'll want to set up to accommodate the number of entries in any given category. In the same manner, the Entries by Venue census is useful when preparing to assign entries to each competition room, in order to help you assess whether the numbers of entries in each room are relatively balanced (e.g., for a given category, you don't want 10 entries in the first two rooms and only 4 in the third room). Because the Contest Totals report is generated in "real time," you can re-check it as you work through the entries scheduling process, to quickly see the impact of your scheduling decisions on room utilization.
